About Wineclass

Wineclass is the brainchild of wine expert Richard Piggott

Richard started feeding his passion for wine by working his way through the vineyards of Europe. He personally sourced an extensive range of independently produced wines from around the globe, and became a specialist supplier to niche, like-minded restaurants, hotels and bars.

In 2000 Richard founded the groundbreaking Brighton Wine School. Its aim was to create an unpretentious atmosphere where guests could learn about wine in a fun and relaxed format. It was the first tasting centre of its type to banish jargon, tweed or crystal decanters.

Richard is a judge at the prestigious International Wine Challenge and a full time roving wine tutor. He also acts as a wine consultant to cookery schools, retailers, restaurants, hotels and private enthusiasts. Recently he has added WSET Foundation and Intermediate level education status to his teaching qualifications.

His unbridled passion for interesting and eclectic wines is still going strong but, if pushed, he will tell you that his favourite pastime is still to share a decent glass of wine with keen and interested people who just want to learn more about their favourite tipple.
